Geocaching
Facts, tips and ideas about Geocaching — and how to find people for it.
Did you know?
Geocaching began on May 3, 2000 — one day after the US government switched off the deliberate inaccuracy of civilian GPS. Dave Ulmer was the first to hide a box in the woods near Portland, with coordinates and a logbook. Within a week there were caches in four countries.

Tip
Pack a trade item and a pen before you head out. Cache etiquette is clear: if you take something, you leave something. Without a pen, you can't sign the logbook.
Millions of small containers are hidden worldwide — in parks, on bridges, in the forks of trees. The geocaching map shows where the nearest one is.
