Market Tour

Munich's Viktualienmarkt has existed since 1807 — when the market on Marienplatz became too small for the growing city, King Max I moved it to its current spot. It has been open almost daily ever since.

Go in the last hours before the market closes. Ask for leftovers then and you'll often come home with half the price and double the amount — many stalls would rather sell perishables cheap than take them back.
