Origami

Facts, tips and ideas about Origami — and how to find people for it.

Did you know?

  • Sadako Sasaki survived the atomic bomb in Hiroshima as a two-year-old, fell ill with leukemia ten years later and began folding paper cranes — Japanese legend: a thousand cranes, one wish. She died at twelve. Her story made the origami crane a global symbol of peace.

Tip

  • Press each fold line once cleanly, then unfold and fold it again. The second fold in the same direction comes out more precise — if you fold roughly once, you get rough lines.

  • One sheet of A4, ten minutes, and two very different cranes end up on the table.

Not every line here is sourced. Where a source is named you can read it up; the rest is collected knowledge.
